Metin Karabağ - Personal & Organizational Leadership Coach
Metin Karabag is one of the pioneers of the Coaching profession in Turkey. He is also one of the first accredited Coaches in Turkey.
Metin was born in Germany and started his career in the Marketing-Communications Industry in Cologne and Frankfurt. He was hired by an Istanbul affiliation-office of a leading global advertising group. He started as an Account Manager for several global leadership brands, and continued his career later as an Account Director and Brand Consultant in diverse Top-10 Agencies offering his services to a wide range of consumer goods brands.
As ‘my greatest services to the Turkish Advertising World’ he describes his believe in and passion for his beautiful country and its professional potential. This belief allowed him to convince his environment and open a new industrial trend. In cooperation with farsighted, highly motivated ad professionals and clients, they developed and produced ad concepts and spots reaching global quality level. These commercials had the opportunity to be aired in Turkey as well as in several countries such as Great Britain known for its own top quality productions.
In 1998 he decided to work for the Food Industry and a leading global organization for Liquid Food Packaging systems, first as Key Account Manager and later Regional General Manager. With the ‘Concept Based Selling’ Method he and his fellow colleagues developed and set the basis for a lot of innovations in the industry locally as well as influencing the customer management strategy of his organization globally.
The first time Metin’s journey crossed of the concept of coaching as a manger was also in 1998. By the time he saw similarities between the coaching methodology and his own management style, and decided to learn and develop this methodology further.
As a professional Metin Karabag had the chance to participate in a broad spectrum of diverse Management Developing Programs and participating also top quality programs in the leading European Business School IMD Lausanne.
The opportunities of the professional learning process, combined with real life experience and the outstanding methodology of coaching, allowed him to enjoy an action oriented but efficient professional life. Coaching became a personal focus area and passion for him.
He experienced his first ICF accredited Coaching Program 2004. Beginning 2005 he went one dimension further and established his Coaching firm Mentalis Coaching & Consulting. The same year he had the chance to appear in diverse TV programs, press interviews and press articles, welcoming this opportunities to promote the new profession of coaching in Turkey.
As one of the first members of ICF Turkey, he took soon responsibility in the Leadership Team at the chapter.
ICF (International Coach Federation) is the worldwide leading authority of the coaching profession. More then 60% of all professional coaches are a member of ICF, which was established 15 years ago in the USA, to establish the ethical frame and continuous quality development of coaching.
To transfer this mission to Turkey Metin Karabag took 2007 the responsibility of Vice President of ICF Turkey and 2008 the Presidency of ICF Turkey for 1 Year. As a member of the Supervisory Board he continuous his commitment and support. During his leadership ICF Turkey achieved the ‘Chapter of the Year’ in Montreal for supporting a local project of a worldwide non-profit project.
As a Coach for Personal & Organizational Leadership, he offers his services to private persons, organizations and corporations. He serves Executives of the middle management as well as Top-Management, and their teams. Metin moderates Transformation Programs/Workshops and is Keynote-Speaker with impactful topics.
Metin Karabag consults also corporations to design and execute corporate internal Mentoring Programs.
